Plans & Permits

The process for obtaining a Building Permit varies widely by county and municipality.

Building permits are a lengthy portion of the construction process and ensure that your garage is built safely and adheres to all local building codes.

Danley’s has a dedicated team of professionals who manage this process. We have worked with municipalities in the Chicagoland area for over 60 years. Trust Danley’s to ensure that this important step is accomplished in a timely manner.

All fees associated with obtaining Building Permits are covered by Danley’s.

Project Review & Blueprints

After your In-Home Consultation, our team holds a Project Review call with you. During this call, we review each of your garage selections in detail and go over the next steps in your project.

If your project requires a Plat of Survey to be ordered, we will obtain one from a local, licensed surveying company.

Your Project Reviewer will confirm your selections and answer any questions. This will include a confirmation of all window and door locations. They will also show you a schematic of the upcoming concrete work. If applicable, we’ll prepare blueprints and aerial sketches to confirm these specifics with you.

It’s important that you go over any questions, additions, or changes at this time. Once the Building Permit is issued, the project’s specifications are locked-in with your village.

Permit Submission

Once we have confirmed everything with you, our team will submit all of our documents and drawings to your local Building Department for approval. Each town has its own process & requirements, as such this process will take several weeks.

Ready to Begin Construction!

Upon receipt of the Building Permit, our team will send you an electronic copy. We will also mail a printed copy of the documents to you. The permit placard will need to be affixed to a window, visible to the street.

Your project is now ready to begin!
