Previous Scholarship Winners

Dennis Woelber

“I think it is important in today’s world that we lead a life full of respect for others’ differences and learn from each other. Your topic helped remind me of the importance of this. Thank you!” Dennis will be attending The College of St. Scholastica.

Alexxis Schwalier

“Analyzing qualities that I admire in others and myself is not a normal part of my routine day. It took thought and self-reflection, which resulted in me learning a lot about myself. Writing this essay made me appreciate things that I tend to take for granted.” Alexxis will be attending Washington State University this spring.

Emma Ackerman

“Reflecting on my past educators allowed me to fully appreciate the significance of Mr. Garza’s inspiration of my education and my character. I am beyond grateful for the educators that go above and beyond to help their students be successful inside and outside the classroom.” Emma will be attending Idaho State University this fall.

Suzanne Piitz

“I never thought twice about which teacher has inspired me the most. In 2019, Jenny Kocian came to East Butler and assumed the position of the FFA Advisor, as well as the Agriculture teacher. No matter what she did, she always pushed me out of my comfort zone throughout all of my contests, offices held, community service, and throughout my chapter. In return, she is what truly makes me so gear-driven, and has installed the ability in me to rise above the occasion no matter what the situation is at that time.” Suzanne will be attending Doane University this fall.

Terna Chagu

Terna attends Florida Institute of Technology and is excited to continue his education. Of the Danley’s essay topic, Terna said “It immediately stood out to me because I think teachers that do more than write notes and give assignments are really the reason that people go on to become great in life. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to write what my experience has been with someone that chose to go the extra mile with me.” Congratulations, Terna!

Perry Hamilton

Perry will be attending Eastern Michigan University next year and is excited to continue his education.
